Dr. Chattha generally provides treatment from a cognitive-behavioural perspective, which focuses on identifying one's thoughts and actions and how they relate to one's symptoms. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an effective and usually short-term treatment (between 6-20 sessions, but depends on the nature of one's difficulties). It does not involve you being a passive participant in therapy nor does it involve a passive therapist. It requires active collaboration on the part of the patient with the goal that the patient eventually become their own "therapist." Tasks assigned between sessions can also be a very important part of therapeutic process, as progress may limited if individuals lose the opportunity to apply skills or gain important knowledge from their day-to-day experiences. Should Dr. Chattha feel it is appropriate, other treatment approaches may be integrated into one's treatment plan (e.g., interpersonal, schema-focused, existential). These approaches can be particularly important in regards to relationship difficulties or interpersonal conflict. Dr. Chattha is also qualified to provide group treatment (e.g., anxiety, depression, chronic illness) and can be offered upon appropriate referrals and need.

Dr. Chattha accepts WSIB, MVA, return-to-work, EAP and Blue Cross insurance referrals.
